Brett Favre was traded to the Packers for a number one draft pick, the 17th overall pick in the 1992 Draft. The Falcons traded down to the 19th pick and selected Tony Smith - RB from Southern Miss - same school as Brett Favre. Smith was in the NFL for 3 years. == ==

Statement from Packer's General Manager, Ted Thompson (www.packers.com) Brett Favre has informed us of his intention to retire from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL. He has had one of the greatest careers in the history of the National Football League, and he is able to walk away from the game on his own terms - not many players are able to do that. So, in answer to the question: No one ---- The Packers traded a first round draft choice to the Falcons for Favre in 1992.
