Slim Whitman sang, Where did Yesterday Go.
The late baseball broadcaster Harry Caray actually began the seventh-inning stretch tradition when he was working for the Chicago White Sox in 1976. He continued it when he moved to the Cubs broadcasts in the 1980s. After his death in 1998, the Cubs have continued the tradition by inviting celebrities to perform the song.
