the first modern game of football was played in 1887, with teams England and Scotland competing. Before that, and during the Tudor times, football was a bloody and gruesome game, and many people were seriously injured whilst playing.

Actually it was Princeton against Rutgers in 1886 When Rutgers won 53-15
