The Angels are currently owned by billionaire Arte Moreno. He became the first Hispanic to own a major sports franchise in the US when he bought the Angels from the Walt Disney Company in 2003. He made his fortune with a billboard company called Outdoor Systems. As president, profits soared and he took the company public. Stock prices skyrocketed and he eventually wound up selling the company to Infinity Broadcasting in 1998 for $8 billion.
