Eddie Johnston, who recorded 232 victories over two stints with the Penguins, from 1980-83 and 1993-97. He was the general manager who drafted Mario Lemieux in 1984, and also was the GM of the Hartford Whalers in 1991 when the Penguins traded John Cullen, Jeff Parker and Zarley Zalapski for Ron Francis, Ulf Samuelsson, and Grant Jennings, a trade which helped the Pens win their first Stanley Cup. Definetely, Scotty Bowman has the most wins as a coach for the red wings. (However, not all but most of his wins have not come as a red wing coach.)
