The two most prolific, active basketball players today are LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers. LeBron James is perhaps the most physically gifted person ever to play basketball: 6'10", strong, powerful, yet fast and agile. The current MVP of the National Basketball Association, he is almost impossible to defend. He can shoot 3-point baskets and post up with anyone, and score at will. However, James has yet to win an NBA championship. One can argue that James has never been surrounded by enough talent in Cleveland; on many nights, he is literally a one-man team. Kobe Bryant is as brilliant an athlete as James, but does not possess his imposing physique or power. However, Bryant is the ultimate competitor and clutch performer. A mainstay of the powerhouse LA Laker franchise, Bryant has won multiple NBA championships. Bryant can take over games at critical moments and is virtually impossible to defend. He is also a premier defender himself. Either man could easily be considered the greatest basketball player in the world today.
