In Baseball history- by far Josh Gibson of the Negro Leagues. He hit almost 800 home runs, batted .353 in his career, hit .600 one time and hit 84 homers in 1936.
But in the majors, not Johnny Bench or Yogi Berra. Actually its either Mike Piazza or Ivan Rodriguez. They have the best total package as catcher: average, speed, home runs, slugging, on-base percentage, you name it. In fact Piazza holds the record for most homers by a catcher at 427, Mickey Chocrane is the ML leader in best BA by a backstopper at .320 and Bill Dickey hit a ML season record .362 (and Mike Piazza) and Johnny Bench hit a season record for a catcher 45 home runs, all far away from Gibson's totals that are MLB records to this day!!!

Many, but some that come immediately to mind would be Yogi Berri, Johnny Bench, Roy Campanella, Mickey Cochrane, Bill Dickey, and Gabby Hartnett
