There's a guy by the name of Hank Williams, from the little town of Triton Newfoundland, which is an island just off of Canada. He was rank 1st in Canada at one point, and even went on to be named the athlete of the year in the Triton/Britron area, a feat that has not yet been repeated. Local lore states that the man hit three home runs, at three up at bats, to put his team ahead by one in the final three innings of the game.
I would have to disagree and say Jeff Hall is the best slow pitch softball player of all time.
Rick " The Crusher" Scherr played in 20 Men's Major World Series. He is in the ASA and USSSA Hall of Fame. Hit .700 in his career, and was the all-time home run leader when he retired. Ditto for Big Bruce Meade. He had the longest home run ever, pre-juiced bats, at over 500 feet. Rick Weiterman is in 4 softball hall of fames. Played for The Milwaukee Schlitz in the old pro league, Steele's Sports " Men of Steele ", and Ritches Superior in the Men's Majors. Career batting average in competition was just over .750. All these guys played at the highest levels of the sport for more than 25 years. Some of them are still playing today in their 50's. Jeff Hall is great, and if he stays around for a while he will be in the conversation. Oh yeah, Weiterman was one of the games greatest pitchers.
