There have been many great centers in NBA history. It is impossible to name one, as different time periods have resulted in different styles of play.

The all-time best center, however, would probably be Wilt Chaimberlain. He went through a season averaging 50 points per game- a feat no one has come even close to doing. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Shaquille O'Neal round out the top five.
