He played for Lipscomb University which at the time was an NAIA school.The second leading scorer is actually Phillip Hutcheson who proceeded Pierce as Lipscomb's center from 1987-1990. He scored 4,106 points during his career.Travis Grant from Kentucky State University is the NCAA all-time leading scorer (4,045). He played 1969-1972 and was also the all-time leader scorer in NAIA history. He was also the first to score 4,000 points in a career and is inducted into the Kentucky Athletic, National Collegiate Basketball, and NAIA Halls-of-Fame.
