Peter Whittingham (born September 8, 1984 in Nuneaton) is an English footballer who, as of March 2014, plays for Cardiff City as a midfielder.
Whittingham began his senior career at Aston Villa in 2003, a year after helping his team to win the FA Youth Cup. He spent four years in the side, including loan appearances for Burnley and Derby County.
Whittingham moved to Cardiff City in 2007, where he immediately became a first-choice midfielder, upon the arrival of new Cardiff City boss Tony Capaldi. During his time with Cardiff City in the Championship, he appeared in the FA Cup and Carling Cup finals. He helped Cardiff City to promotion in the 2012-13 season.
Whittingham made 17 youth international appearances for England Under-21s between 2004 and 2007.
