If you are referring to third-string quarterback Stephen McGee, he really isn't new. The Texas A&M product was selected by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2009 draft.
He was pressed into service on Christmas Day, 2010 when Dallas quarterback Jon Kitna was injured in a prime-time game against the Arizona Cardinals. McGee came close to winning the contest in relief for the Cowboys, but Arizona won, 27-26, on a last-second goal.
McGee's first start in the National Football League was on January 2, 2011, as he led the Cowboys to a 14-13 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the season finale. He won the game with 55 seconds left with a 4-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jason Witten.
