Brett Whitely is an expressionist artist whose works are often associated with Brett Whiteley, the Australian artist who also specialises in expressionism pieces. However, while the Australian's works are often of distorted landscapes painted with bold, bright colours, and often busy; this Brett Whitely who is not as well known paints bright, rich pieces (search: 'Blossom Tree') that are often more warm than bold in their tone. Whitely's works have little subject matter, however his use of distortion and heavy, rich brushstrokes and tones make his pieces look busier than they are.
