In 11 man football Jim Butcher (Lake Roosevelt high School). As a Junior he had 26 tackles in a single game and averaged 17 a game for a season total 153 for the season. In his Senior year he averaged 23 a game and a total 207 tackles. Class of 1980.

The NCAA record for the most tackles in a season is held by Kevin Talley. He recorded 195 with Norfolk State in 2003. However, Lawrence Flugence holds the FBS (Division 1) record with 193 tackles in a season for Texas Tech in 2002.
