Ron Hextall and Martin Brodeur have each scored 2 NHL goals. Both of Hextall's goals, one in the regular season (1987) and one in the playoffs (1989), resulted from him shooting the puck directly toward the empty net at the other end of the rink. Brodeur shot the puck at the empty net to score his first goal during the playoffs (1997), but he was credited with a regular season goal (2000) as he was the last New Jersey Devil to touch the puck before a Philadelphia Flyer player shot the puck into his own net.
