Well there was only 1 team I think '72' Dolphins that went 16-0 in regular season and went on to win the Super Bowl undifeted. In the 2007-2008 season the New England Patriots went16-0 in regular season but lost in the Superbowl to the New York Giants[So the Pats went 18-1]

A previous Wiki answer:

In 1994, Miami defeated Georgia Southern in the season-opener for its 58th consecutive home win, setting an NCAA-record; the streak, which began in 1985, was snapped two weeks later when Washington defeated the Hurricanes 38-20 at the Orange Bowl.

However, the longest streak(including both home and away games) rests at 47 by Oklahoma from 1953-1957.
