[NOTE: This above is speaking from the 2011 viewpoint.

In fact, before 1990, what is now the AFL competition was the VFL - so the AFL record was originally a VFL record; and, ironically, what is now termed VFL was really the VFA competition when the (stated) VFL record was set!]
