Sir Alex Ferguson described a man called Charles Wright who lives in Trafford, Gtr Manchester as Manchester United's greatest fan. His father was a Manchester United fan so you could say he was born a 'red' who went to his first match in a pram. Not only does he watch the first team, reserve and youth teams, his wife took a job in Manchester United's ticket office so she could make sure he obtained tickets for away games. Charles has travelled all over the World with United and is one of the few none staff people who are allowed into Manchester United's Carrington training ground where he watches the players train and youth team games almost every night of the week. He started work for the local council in 1958 as an office boy and retired in 2008 after fifty years of service. On his retirement Alex Ferguson sent Trafford Council a letter wishing him a long and happy retirement. This was presented to Charles at his leaving party. Charles has a season ticket and sits behind Sir Alex Ferguson in the United dugout every home game.
