it really depends on your governing body in usssa slowpitch you can use up to 31 ounces legally some people get by and use heavier bat but unless you are built like a gorilla a heavier bat is going to have a negative effect on your bat speed. You ideally want a medium, middle of the road bat weight of 26 to 28 ounces so you can get a quick bat onto the ball

The drop is the second most important thing in sizing a player with a new bat. First is the proper length. Bat Length Minus The Drop = Bat Weight "The Drop" is a common term for describing the weight of an aluminum bat. It is unique to aluminum and composite bats as the weight of a wood bat varies somewhat within each bat. The drop simply means you take the length of the bat and subtract the drop to determine the weight. For Example: The DeMarini CF4 is a -10 and is available in 31", 32", 33" and 34". Therefore, a 31" would weigh 21 ounces, a 32" would weigh 22 ounces and so on.

That would depend on the length of the bat. The '-2' is known as the 'bat drop' or 'drop weight' and means that the weight of the bat, in ounces, is 2 less than the length of the bat in inches. To find the weight of the bat you must first measure the bat to find its length. If the length of the bat is 30 inches, the weight of the bat is 28 ounces. If the length of the bat is 28 inches, the weight of the bat is 26 ounces.

By density, osmium is the heaviest (22.61 kgL-1). By atomic weight, ununpentium is the heaviest (228gmol-1)

The weight of the bat, in ounces, is 3 less than the length of the bat in inches. The -3 is called the 'bat drop' or 'drop weight'. Measure the bat and then subtract 3 from the number of inches and you will determine the weight of the bat in ounces. If the length of the bat is 30 inches, the weight is 27 ounces. If the length of the bat is 33 inches, the weight is 30 ounces. If you see a bat with a -6 on it, that means the weight of the bat, in ounces, is 6 less than the length of the bat in inches ... a -8 means the weight, in ounces, is 8 less than the length of the bat in inches.
