The three highest test cricket run scorers...

IN A CAREER:

Sachin Tendulkar: 14,692 runs.

Ricky Ponting: 12,363 runs.

Rahul Dravid: 12,314 runs.

(What is unique about this list is that with a test match coming up in a day's time, Dravid could replace Ponting as second place. All these players are still playing international cricket at this point in time).

IN AN INNINGS:

Brian Lara: 400* vs England, St Johns, 2004.

Matthew Hayden: 380 vs Zimbabwe, Perth, 2003.

Brian Lara: 375 vs England, St Johns, 1994.

(You could tell Lara had a habit of performing against England at this particular ground. Once Hayden snatched the record from Lara, he retained it a few months later. Oh well).

IN A MATCH:

Graham Gooch: 456 (333 and 123) vs India, Lords, 1990.

Mark Taylor: 426 (334* and 92) vs Pakistan, Peshawar, 1998.

Brian Lara: 400 (400) vs England, St Johns, 2004.
