There were 65 total teams in the 2010 Men's NCAA Basketball tournament, otherwise known as March Madness. Two teams (the 64th and 65th team) played a preliminary game to decide who would be the 64th team. The winner would play the #1 seed in the South Region, the Duke Blue Devils.

The tournament is split into 4 regions: The Midwest, the West, the East, and the South regi9on. The following teams were in their respected regions with their respected rankings within their region:

The Wintrhop Eagles and Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions played a preliminary game, with Arkansas-Pine Bluff winning to become the 15th seed in the South Region.
