In 1985, the UCLA Bruins won the College World Series. They did not go undefeated in this series. They finished their season 41-9.

I believe the first College Softball World Series was played in 1982, and the UCLA Bruins won this game. They went undefeated in the series and ended their season 33-7-2.

The New York Rangers were the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference last year. They played the 8th seeded Ottawa Senators in the first round, and won the series in 7 games, 4-3. In the second round, the Eastern Conference semifinals, they played the 7th seeded Washington Capitals, and once again it took 7 games for them to win the series 4-3. In the third round, the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Rangers lost to the 6th seeded New Jersey Devils in 6 games, 4-2.
