It depends really..
For the 1st centre pass- if the team that take the 1st centre pass is shooting to the umpires right hand side, then that is the umpire that blows the 1st whistle.
This happens at the start of every quarter. (After you work out who's centre it is obviously).
After every goal- What ever side the goal was scored down, that is the umpire who blows the whistle for the next centre pass.
E.g. If you're an umpire and the goal was scored down the end you're NOT umpiring, then you will NOT blow for the next centre pass.
Hope that helped.. Its hard 2 explain, but soo easy to understand once you get it :) xx
the up ref has the final call in everything, and blows whistle for team to serve.
The serve starts when the ref blows his whistle and motions that you may serve.
Typically The ref blows a whistle, then drops the puck shortly after.
It counts unless a penalty, say offsides, would negate it.
ref
its not really called any name for it but the ref blows the whistle holds up 2 fingers and gives the other team the point
No, the ref can decide whether to stop play and blow the whistle or he can just let the team kicking put the ball in play right away.
If you are the offensive player, and any part of your body is in the crease when the puck isn't, then the ref blows the whistle and the faceoff is outside attacking zone in the neutral zone. The player in the crease does not get a minor penalty.

the AR is just that, an AR (Assistant Referee). It is the center ref's decision to make a call. However, if the defender did handle the ball, chances are a penalty kick (PK) will be called.
