The Atlanta Braves have been in Boston and Milwaukee.

AnswerI can name one: The New Jersey Devils (NHL) were formerly the Colorado Rockies and previous to that the Kansas City Scouts.

Of course, there's nothing in the question about how successful they were (Kansas City and Colorado not so much)...hockey fans will know what I'm talking about.

AnswerThe Oakland Athletics were in Philadelphia first, then Kansas City in 1955, and then Oakland in 1968. AnswerThe Baltimore Orioles began play in Milwaukee in 1901, moved to St. Louis in 1902 and to Baltimore in 1954. Answer
  • Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) were originally called the New England Whalers (WHA) and played in the Boston Garden however they wanted to create an identity for themselves and not live in the shadow of the NHL's Bruins. They would move from Boston to Springfield, CT to to Hartford, CT where they would be renamed the Hartford Whalers and absorbed into the NHL. In 1994, they relocated down to Carolina.
  • The Dallas Stars (NHL) also have an interesting history. The California Golden Seals relocated to Cleveland following financial trouble. After 1 year of Cleveland, the franchise merged with the Minnesota North Stars, which would later relocate to Dallas.
  • In 1972, Kansas City would be awarded an NHL expansion franchise. It would last only 2 year relocating to Denver for a short period of time before finally coming to its current location of New Jersey. The team is now known as the New Jersey Devils.
  • Finally, the Quebec Bulldogs joined the NHL in 1919. They would relocate to Hamilton in 1920 and then New York in 1925.
AnswerThe NFL Rams originated in Cleveland (1937), then moved to Los Angeles in 1946, and then to St. Louis in 1995.
