No the symbol for the saints is not a flower but the name however does stand for "lilyflower" in French but , the symbol itself is not a flowered picture.
Probably because the New Orleans Saints' fleur-de-lis is a National Football League trademark. Or it could be that the City of New Orleans has always used a different version of the symbol.
From the song "When the Saints Go Marching In," which is strongly associated with the street-jazz bands of New Orleans. The team was even originally announced on November 1 -- All Saints' Day.
