First by the Chicago Cubs in 1906 with 116 wins, and then the Seattle Mariners did the same in 2001. Unlike the Mariners the Cubs had a 152 game season, so they could have achieved more wins because the Mariners season was 162 games long.
The angels are rivals primarily with the seattle mariners and Oakland athletics but also hold a strong rivalry with the redson mainly in postseason games. Due to the poor playing of Oakland recently and the horrible playing of Seattle recently the rivalry has cooled.
