The Houston Astros no longer play on Astro Turf. The only teams that still play on Astro Turf are Toronto, Tampa Bay and Minnesota. The Astros do currently play on astro turf. They got their name because of being close to NASA.
Bill Doran played for the Houston Astros from 1982-1990. He was traded to the Cincinnati Reds on August 31, 1990.
The Astros entered the National League in 1962 as the Houston Colt 45s. The name was changed to Astros in 1965 when the team moved into the Astrodome.
The Houston Texans play in Reliant Stadium. The Houston Astrodome is in the same parking lot as Reliant Stadium, and is where the Houston Oilers and Houston Astros used to play.
