When you are drafted to a team in professional sports, you generally do not have a choice but to join the team that selected you. The draft system is designed to allocate new players to teams, and once selected, you are obligated to sign with that team unless you negotiate a trade or refuse to play, which can impact your career. However, in some leagues, players may have limited options to influence their destination if they are not satisfied with the team that picked them.
