The Cowboys' owner is one of the few NFL magnates who also serves as his own general manager. History has shown that the Cowboys' greatest successes since 1989 have occurred when Jones ceded power to talented coaches such as jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells. Only time will tell if Jones will be willing to give rookie head coach Jason Garrett a lion's share of control over the on-the-field product.
