unfortuanetly it was in 1969 (I like the jets) Super Bowl III and jets were unlikely to beat the Baltimore colts it was quite an upset as everyone thought joe namath was a nut ehaen he guarenteed a win for super bowl III (he guarenteed a win a week before the super bowl)
1969, Super Bowl III. One of the best ever, IMO (mostly, for "historical" reasons -- see below).
Jets won, behind Joe "Willie" Namath, their controversial super-quarterback from the University of Alabama (coached by the legendary Paul "Bear" Bryant).
Namath boldly predicted, with much hype and fanfare, that they would beat the heavily-favoured Baltimore Colts -- thought to be one of the best pro-football teams of all time (even better than the Vince Lombardi-era Green Bay Packers). And they did win, 16-7.
The quarterback for the Colts, Johnny Unitas -- another football legend -- had been injured during the year, and did not play much of the season. Yet back-up quarterback, Earl Morrall, had an outstanding performance all year, leading the NFL in passing.
Unitas (still sore-armed) also did not start in the Super Bowl, but was pulled-in during the 3d quarter to see if he could get the Colts on the scoreboard. He did -- but, only one touchdown.
This was the first Super Bowl victory for the nascent AFL, recently merged with the NFL, and started the AFL (AFC) on its path to becoming an equal competitor to the NFL (NFC)

No, he did not make it to the Super Bowl with the Jets. The last time the Jets were in the Super Bowl was in 1969.
The Jets one and only appearance in the Super Bowl was January 12, 1969 against the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. The Jets defeated the Colts 16-7.
The New York Jets won their last and only Super Bowl in 1969, beating the Baltimore Colts 16-7.
in 1969 Superbowl III
A very long time ago (1969, in Super Bowl III).
The Jets won Super Bowl III by upsetting the Baltimore Colts, 16-7, on Jan. 12, 1969. "Broadway Joe" Namath was the New York quarterback.
Prior to making it to the second round of the 2009 season playoffs, that was the 2004 season when they defeated the Chargers in the Wildcard round and then lost to the Steelers in the Division round.
49ers Jets Ravens and Buccaneers
The first time they ever played in a superbowl was super bowl 3.
The Colts will not be going to the super bowl.
