How can I buy Super Bowl tickets?
The only method the NFL has to distribute tickets to the public is through a random drawing. There is no other way for the general public to purchase tickets. The NFL does not sell tickets to travel or ticket agents.
Entries for the random drawing are accepted between Feb. 1 and June 1 of the year preceding the game in question. All ticket requests must be sent via certified or registered mail. Those selected in the random drawing will have the opportunity to purchase two tickets.
Requests for Super Bowl XLIV, to be played Feb. 7, 2010 in South Florida, will be accepted beginning Feb. 1, 2009. They should be sent to:

Please note that only one request per address is accepted. All duplicate requests will be disregarded.
Tickets are on sale all year long. According to sb-tickets.com they are not sent out until 2 weeks before the game. You have to buy the tickets from the secondary market unless you win the NFL lottery which is for very few tickets.

In the Super Bowl the away team's season ticket holders may get right to tickets, if they purchased their teams home playoff game tickets, if they had any home games, they will be entered in a lottery. Each team in the Super Bowl gets 17.5% of the tickets. If you win the lottery for the tickets through your season tickets, you get half the seats you have for your season tickets, I believe, so if you have 4 season tickets and you win the lottery, you get 2 Super Bowl tickets.
