The University of Georgia product was selected as a quarterback by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2001 National Football League college draft. He started eight games as a rookie, but injuries sidelined him during the second half of the season. He started seven games in 2002, but inconsistent play resulted in his being supplanted by Chad Hutchinson.
