After announcing his retirement from the NBA's Chicago Bulls in 1993, Jordan eventually signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox. In 1994. he briefly played for the Birmingham Barons, a White Sox farm team managed by future Boston Red Sox skipper Terry Francona.
