Only one time has this happened. In 2009, the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Texas in the BCS National Championship game with their Heisman winner Mark Ingram. In 2010, the Auburn Tigers defeated Oregon on a last second field goal. Auburn's quarterback Cam Newton, won the Heisman that year. So only the state of Alabama has ever been able to win both the Heisman and national championship back to back. TCU and Texas A&M won the National Championship back to back years in 1938 and 1939 respectively. TCU's Davey O'Brien won the Heisman in 1938, but Texas A&M failed have a Heisman winner that next year.
The University of Alabama has only had one Heisman Trophy winner, Mark Ingram.
Only one in 2009-2010 season mark Ingram won it
Consecutive Heisman winners from the same state but different teams were 1992 Gino Torretta from Miami and 1993 Charlie Ward from Florida State. You can thank Alabama in 1992 from keeping Torretta from the national championship. Ward took Florida State to the championship in 1993 when Auburn went undefeated in the regular season but was on probation.
Biographies of Heisman Winners can be found in various places such as bookstores, libraries, online retailers like Amazon, and websites dedicated to sports history. Additionally, many Heisman Winners have published their own autobiographies detailing their journey to winning the prestigious award.

The University of Minnesota's only Heisman Trophy winner was halfback Bruce Smith, who received the honor in 1941. He was a key player in the Gophers' bacl-to-back national championships in 1940 and 1941. Smith is one of 13 Heisman winners who also played on a national championship team the same season.
