FDR's decision begin preparing the United States for war even though America was still many years from entering the conflict. This helped the United states enter the conflict in a state that was ready to fight in the Pacific within months, and in Africa within a year and a half. The decision to build factories such as those at Chelyabinsk (aka Tankograd) in the Urals. These facilities were protected from the war and had easy access to enormous resources, allowing them to produce the massive numbers of tanks the Soviet war machine needed to win. The decision to help keep the Soviet Union from collapsing through the Lend Lease program, thus forcing Hitler to bleed his forces dry in a protracted war. The decision to throw all available resource into building an Atom bomb. The decision to abandon appeasement and declare war may have helped. On the other hand if England had not declared war when Poland was invaded, the Evacuation from Dunkirk would have been unneccessary, and England would not have lost the Expeditionary Force's Equipment.
