Oh, dude, Satchel Paige played for several teams in his baseball career, but he's most famously associated with the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro Leagues. He also played for the Cleveland Indians and other teams in the Major Leagues later on. So, like, he was a real baseball nomad, you know?

I read this a LONG time ago so I am not completly sure, you might want to do some reasearch. Satchel Paige was not allowed to play in the Major Leagues because he was black.
It certainly is possible that one of the teams he barnstormed with made its way through Salina, but I have found no reference of Satchel Paige to Salina. He played for the Salina Blue Jays for awhile. No question about it. Could also be called the Etherington Blue Jays as the name was changed.
