Super Bowl XLVIII is destined to be one of the National Football League's great gambles in determining a host site. The contest is scheduled to be played on February 2, 2014 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The stadium, completed in 2010, is the joint home of the New York Giants and the New York Jets. It is an open-air arena, which means the Super Bowl could be affected by winter weather.
