well it could be either soccer they do get breaks and same with Basketball but the shooting time and the passing time takes away running time in basketball so I think you run more in soccer

soccer has been around since the middle ages, but back then, it was a dangerous sport. There was no pitch, there were no goals, and the ball was an inflated pig bladder. If you can still call that soccer, then i reckon soccer has been around longer than basketball. If you don't call that soccer, then I can't answer your question.
P.S. The chinese also had a 'version' of soccer in, like, 1000BC, but similar to that of the middle ages, it wasn't the sport which we have 2day.
I'm going to say basketball because it is usually a longer time running because they are not breaks. However track most likely has a longer distance because you can have a 4X100 or 100 meter dash. All in all it really depends on how the basketball teams or playing. For example if they are playing half court style then track, but if they play fast court style then basketball.
