Giants Stadium opened up on October 10, 1976 to an NFL game between the Giants and Dallas Cowboys. The first Giants TD was scored by wide receiver Jim Robinson on a 30 yard pass from Craig Morton in the 3rd quarter that made the score 17-7 in a game the Giants eventually lost, 24-14. The first ever TD was scored by Robert Newhouse of the Cowboys on an 8 yard run in the 1st quarter.
well there are two answers.. giant stadium opened in 1976 September or October. Robert Newhouse scored the first professional TD for the cowboys... however in July of 1976 the first touchdown ever scored was by a pass thrown by Jeff Schwartz to peter DeCicco witnessed by sportscaster Marv Albert broadcast on new york channel 4 as part of a sports fantasy contest is the first touchdown ever scored at the giants stadium
