If for example there is mutual offside, or mutual conatct then the umpire will do a toss up. this consists of the two players facing each other standing 1 metre apart with their hands by their sides. the unpire will then throw up the ball between them they then have to try and catch the ball, whoever catches it first plays on the ball :)

A thow in is when the ball has been knocked out of court.Which ever team knocked it out the opposite team will take the throw in. Depending where the throw in is being taken depends on which player will be best for taking the throw in/

  1. A toss up is used to put the ball in play in situations such as, simultaneous contact by opposing players or if the umpire cannot decide who last touched the ball out of court. The two players stand 0.9m (3 feet) apart, facing each other and their own goal end. Their arms should be straight with hands by their sides. Once in position, they must not move until the umpire has tossed it up from just below shoulder height of the shorter player, and blown the whistle. The ball may be caught or batted except directly at an opponent. A goal shooter or goal attack may shoot for goal from a successful possession at a toss up.

A toss up in Netball is when you toss the ball up between to players to see who can catch it. You can't hit it back like in basktball but you can catch it
