In Lacrosse, the stick is EVERYTHING. You can only touch the ball with your stick. That's how you carry it. You shoot, cradle, pass, block, and catch with the stick.
have the ball in the pouch, throw the ball up low and softly, turn the lacross stick on its side and balance the ball on the side of the head. once its balanced and stable, thrust the stick forward quickly and let the ball roll down the smooth long shaft of your stick until the ball strikes your hand. at this point the ball will go upwards off your hand and that's when you catch the ball back in your pouch.
There Equipment? Well a long metal stick with a scooper on the end and a ball¬
the reason that labradors are called retrivers is because usually if you throw a ball or a stick or something they will usually retrive it

A wild throw is usually when the ball is no where near where the catcher called for the ball to be.

The sport of you refer to is called Hurling, not hurley. It is a uniquely Irish game. Played with a stick and ball, it is a fast paced game, much like an airborne version of hockey (if you can imagine that). You can use the stick to hit the ball. Hands can be used to pass the ball, though not throw it. Its called a hand pass and is useful for short distance or if someone is hooking u ie uses there stick to stop you swing with your stick. See the related question below.
