Each NHL team has an affiliate team (or farm team) that plays in the American Hockey League. Many of the AHL teams are in the same city as their NHL affiliate. Many NHL teams are also affiliated with an East Coast Hockey League team.
The name Roadrunners has been associated with the city of Phoenix for a long time. Over the years hockey teams named the Phoenix Roadrunners have played in the World Hockey Association (WHA), the International Hockey League (IHL), the Pacific Hockey League (PHL), the Central Hockey League (CHL), and the East Coast Hockey League, now known simply as the ECHL. I can't recall any other city or town having the nickname Roadrunners for their hockey team, but maybe someone else out there might know.
Stockton Thunder Hockey league is located in Stockton, California. They used to be known as Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. The league was founded in 1990. Their head coach is Matt Thomas.

There are no NHL teams in Oklahoma, but there is an AHL team called the Oklahoma City Barons. They are the minor league affiliate for the Edmonton Oilers.
