According to the official NHL rules, the goal is four feet (48 inches) from ice to the bottom of the crossbar, and six feet (72 inches) between the two posts. The posts and crossbars are 2 3/8" in diameter on the outside (2" on the inside). The back of the base of the net is 44" from the front of the crossbars.
