Obviously his wife and kids are important to him, but before he started a family, the most influential person in his life was his father. He really looked up to him. His father was the reason for him leaving the NBA to play Major League Baseball. Unfortunately that didn't work out for him. He had a good relation with his dad and constantly attempted to make him proud throughout his life.
