What is the difference between pom pom girls and cheerleaders?

Pom is a mixture of dance. Pom girls don't use many cheer motions, It's more "creative". Cheerleaders, on the other hand, almost always use the simple cheer motions. Cheerleaders also stunt and tumble.

Cheerleading is WAY better then pom poms. Sure they look cool, but you can't really clap with them. And they are SO uncomfortable.

Everyone has their own preferences, however.

If you're more into dance then you are into yelling and clapping and stunting, then i suggest Poms.

I've done both, and i think poms is better.

A cheerleader does cheers, sometimes dancing, splits - straddles - jumps, etc and CHEERS on a team during a sporting event. A majorette uses a baton and marches, dances and executes 'tricks' with their baton. Majorettes are usually used in parades and school functions involving a band.
