There's very little difference from brand to brand, except maybe in the style of grip (little bumps) on the surface of the ball, which differ slightly. It's worth throwing and catching the ball a few times in the shop to see what you make of the ball.

Most people have a personal preference, mine is for Gilbert balls, because my first ball was a Gilbert and because they make Ireland's balls
