Contact is an infringement that occurs when a player makes physical contact which interferes with the play of an opponent.

However, not all contact is an infringement of the rules. Contact which is deemed not to have impeded the progress of a player will not be penalised.

Touching another player, whether it be snatching the ball, grabbing them or just simpily touching them by accident maybe. However there may also be a penalty for coming closer to the other player than 1 metre! Hope that helps!

Literally that. Contact is when players of opposite teams make 'contact' with each other, but 'contact' is just a much nicer word for it. Players on offense try to initiate contact by bumping into defenders for foul shots.

The player who made the contact will be made to stand by the side of the player on the other team whilst they take a free pass or shot (in the semi-circle)

The contact rule of netball is that you are not allowed any contact. If contact occurs then a penalty pass is awarded to the opposite team.

Is netball a contact sport?

Netball is considered non contact - however it was recently rated the third highest contact sport. This is because as the player is penalised when pulled up for contacting, the contact is made more aggressive (the logic is "if you're going to do it you might as well do it properly").
