A large majority of them are. But it is not uncommon to have a 18 year old freshman.

Well, I am a freshman in high school and I am 5'2" I see many people that are 4' tall. I would say that age 7 to 10 would be average but you still have a lot of time to grow

It depends where you live and where you look. I know that they have competitive Lacrosse for girls in the south at about age 7 or 8. If you live on the east lacrosse starts at 4.
It depends on what age you are talking about. If it is middle school or youth lacrosse you should be fine with little to no experience. But if you are looking at college lacrosse, you definitely need prior experience.
