As of October 2023, the Michigan high school mile record is held by the legendary runner Alan Webb, who set a time of 3:53.43 in 2001. This record remains one of the fastest high school mile times in the United States. Webb's performance has stood the test of time, making it a significant benchmark for high school athletes in Michigan and beyond.
The record for the fastest mile run the high school track is 3.53.43.
The current record for running the fastest mile relay race in high school is currently 3 minutes, 58 seconds, and 30 milliseconds. The record was set on May 15, 1965 by Jim Ryun from Wichita East High School.
Mile High is a tv drama series depicting the lives foremost of each main crew of "Fresh Airline" operating from Stansted, England. One must not mix it up with Mile High Club which has some kind of adult activities being practiced high up in the skies.
im not to sure what it is but im on the team right now and i run a 6 min mile and could be faster and 12:30 two mile for the girls
As of my last update, the Maryland high school mile record is held by David Kinsella, who set a time of 4:00.5 in 1979. This record is recognized by the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA). However, records can change, so it's always a good idea to verify with the latest sources for the most current information.
I'm guessing Reed Fischer around 1972, I think he ran a 4:05 mile. He's from Highland Park HS. I could be wrong on this answer.
Svetlana Masterkova holds the world record for the Mile run at 4:12.56 which is 9.35 meters longer than the 1600. Her mile time is more than three seconds faster than the second best ever. Additionally Masterkova was known for winning her races from the front, rather than sprinting for the finish, so it is impossible any other individual could have arrived at the 1600 meter mark ahead of her adjusted mile time or even her actual mile time.
Roger Bannister was the first man to break the four minute mile. He did it in May, 1954 at a meet in England, I believe with a time of 3:59.4. He was running with others that also had the potential. I guess you could say that the conditions were just right for him to break the record.
The American record for the mile is 3:46.91 set by Alan Webb at a meet in Belgium in July, 2007.
Richard "Bones" Bright at the 1963 Connecticut State Track and Field Championship held at Yale. The time for the mile was 4:10.8.
Mile High Stadium is called so because it's in Denver. Denver is nicked named that because its elevation is exactly one-mile above sea level, thus a mile high.
