In a July 2008 Sports Illustrated cover story, Tom Verducci called Lincecum "the most fascinating pitcher in Baseball."

The piece continued: "Not since Mark (the Bird) Fidrych spoke to baseballs, manicured mounds and baffled hitters more than 30 years ago has a pitcher been this consistent and this captivating from the start of his career."

Lincecum, who won back-to-back National league Cy Young awards during his first three seasons, continues to impress with dominating performances so far in the 2010 season.

It's as if he's a freak of nature because he's only 5'11 and yet delivers so much power with his pitches.
